Harvard Magazine highlights undergraduate concentration in architecture

Harvard Magazine‘s most recent issue featured an in-depth story on Harvard’s new undergraduate track in architecture studies, a joint program from the Graduate School of Design and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

The article discussed the teaching approaches and curriculum of professors Mark Mulligan, Michael Smith, and Zaneta Hong, all of whom teach at both the GSD and within the undergraduate program. About the program, associate dean for academic affairs and Eliot Noyes Professor of Architectural Theory K. Michael Hays is quoted as saying that the program represents “a new band of knowledge” for the school, and stressed the importance of the program given that “the study of architecture, in a broad sense, is a study of culture itself.”
