A musical composition by urban planning and design professor Jerold Kayden was featured at the opening of the Harvard Art Museums on November 16. His piece, Inauguration Theme and Fanfare, was performed by a student brass quintet and percussion ensemble from New England Conservatory.
Kayden joined several other musicians from the Harvard and Cambridge communities for this inaugural performance in the museum’s iconic Calderwood Courtyard. “It had a very live, rich, complex feel,” he said. The courtyard is “a wonderful place for music, and to hear the piece played there was unbelievable.”
