The Harvard Graduate School of Design’s Spiro Pollalis has been invited to present at the World Economic Forum’s Davos 2018 conference, taking place in January 2019 in Davos, Switzerland, and themed “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World.” Pollalis will participate in a luncheon panel on Wednesday, January 23 alongside Tina Ambos of the University of Geneva. They will present a talk entitled “Harnessing Innovation in International Organizations to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals.”
Pollalis currently serves as Research Professor at the GSD. Since 2008, he has served as Director of the Zofnass Program for the Sustainability of Infrastructure. He is also the Principal Investigator of the project “Gulf Sustainable Urbanism” for a series of cities in the Arab Gulf. He has taught as a visiting professor at the ETH-Zurich, Switzerland; TU-Delft, Holland; Uni-Stuttgart, Germany; U-Patras, Greece; and has offered joint courses with the Harvard Business School on planning and development. He serves as the co-chair of the Advisory Committee on Future Cities for the Singapore-ETH Center.
Pollalis received his first degree from the University in Athens (EMP) and his Master’s and PhD degrees from MIT. His MBA in high technology is from Northeastern University. He has an honorary Master in Architecture from the GSD.
