Poetics of Planting Design

Poetics of Planting Design is a workshop-based seminar built around a series of investigations into the spatial implications of plants in Landscape Architecture. The course will culminate in a rigorous investigation of a small public garden/landscape-scaled design that emphasizes species and plant characteristics. The seminar will include a Plant Design Colloquium with landscape architects whose work with plants is particularly resonant. The seminar will also include local field walks to investigate the planting design of significant projects. The course expectation is that students will develop advanced expertise and comprehension of the use of plants in design.

Irregular Schedule: The course meets on alternate Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Refer to course syllabus.
