DES 03352 / Option Studio 1508 Lecture: Nina Rappaport, “Vertical Urban Factory”

Nina Rappaport will focus on the spaces of production in the modernist and contemporary city, along with the technologies that have contributed to shifts in factory architecture, manufacturing, and urbanism. Her talk will provide an analysis of the political, social, and economic factors that have shaped today’s global industrial landscape, provoking new concepts for the future of urban manufacturing, and address the need for new paradigms for sustainable, self-sufficient urban industry.
