Iñaki Abalos and Renata Sentkiewicz, Spanish Architecture Cycle: “Thermodynamics of mixed-use high rise prototypes. Theory and practice”
Iñaki Abalos and Renata Sentkiewicz will present the interrelations and synergies between their academic research and professional works in the search for thermodynamic beauty in architecture, as a concept combining both formal implications of energy and thermal systems as well as broader sustainability issues. The lecture will focus on the gathering of these practices in their new book Thermodynamics of mixed use high rise prototypes. Theory and practice, and on the connection of their ongoing research with the recently created Energy and the Environment Lab at the GSD.
This is the first lecture of the GSD’s Spanish Architecture Lecture Cycle, which aims to gather some of the most influential spanish architects in order to share their opinions, impressions, and works on their current practice of architecture, dealing with central topics such as sustainability, scale or infrastructure.
