Korea GSD: Share Award-Winning Projects A Discussion with Sunggi Park + Juhun Lee & Keojin Jin

Sunggi Park, MArch I AP 2014, Sunggi Park (MArch ’14) is first prize winner in an international competition sponsored by the Public Development Center of the Seoul Metropolitan Government to repurpose the Mapo Oil Reserve Base in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. His project “Resonance of Light,” developed with Hyemin Jang of Cornell, proposes transforming military oil tanks into a welcoming flexible public space that is in harmony with the surrounding natural environment.The project had been featured on Bustler.net and Metalocus, and it will appear in Future Magazine soon. Keojin Jin and Juhun Lee (both MDesS ‘14) are the winners of the 1st Radcliff Public Art Competition for their design Saturate the Moment, selected from among 80 submissions by graduate and undergraduate students from diverse fields at Harvard. The competition was created to highlight the potential of public art and the visual arts in general to contribute to intellectual conversations at the University and beyond. It provides students with a unique opportunity to design and build a site-specific installation for prominent display in Radcliffe Yard.
