Tourism Club Workshop: “Play in the City”

The Tourism Club invites you to the workshop “Play in the City.”
Part panel discussion, part design workshop, part lunch with really fascinating professionals, “Play in the City” explores how we use the power of recreation to transform our built environment.
Participants include:
Megan Dickerson
Senior Manager of Community Programs & Partnerships, Boston Children’s Museum
Scott W. Lang
Former Mayor of New Bedford
Rebecca Marcus
Director of Community Programs, Boston Harbor Alliance
Anish Kattukaran
Senior Brand Alchemist, Urban-Gaming Tech Start-Up SCVNGR
Cesare Birignani
Architectural Historian; Instructor, Columbia University
In course of the session, we’ll have the opportunity to work with Professor Brent Ryan from MIT to propose an innovative playscape for Cambridge. We’ll have a thirty-minute breakout of “solutions” sessions with our speakers to brainstorm play proposals for the city. This collective exercise will generate basic urban design and programmatic goals Cambridge can adopt in its quest to enhance recreation-based opportunities in the city.
Lunch Provided & All Welcome!
