Inside Architecture

Organized by artist Luisa Lambri, with Mark Lee, Chair of the Department of Architecture and Professor in Practice of Architecture.

Based on a workshop conducted by artist Luisa Lambri in January 2018, this exhibition features students’ photographs of the interior of Harvard University’s Carpenter Center designed by Le Corbusier. The project explores the relationship between the students and their experiences within the spaces and interiors of the Carpenter Center for Visual Arts, which offers a canvas for the student’s/photographer’s own personal and artistic expression. The focus is not so much a classic representation of Le Corbusier’s building, but rather a highly subjective approach to how an iconic structure can be explored beyond its historical significance in the canon of architectural history and photography.
