Installing Houdini
Network licenses and installation media for this program are provided by the GSD.
To use network-licensed software you are required to be on the GSD wired network, on the Harvard Secure wifi, or logged into VPN while working remotely.
The installation files for this program can be downloaded for either the Windows or MacOS operating system using these links:

Once the installation files have downloaded, launch the file to begin the installation
Choose to install the Houdini program, de-select the License Server – you do not need it installed
You will also be given the option to install additional plugins for other applications you may already have installed
After the installation completes successfully, launch the program
You will be prompted to choose how you want to license the program – choose I Have a Paid License for Houdini
Choose License settings, and then choose the Change License Server option under the File menu
Enter gsdlicense.university.harvard.edu as the license server name
Once the license server information is entered, it should confirm the license availability, launch Houdini and it should check out an available license
