Licenses and installation media for this program are provided by the GSD.

To use network-licensed software you are required to be on a GSD network – either with a network cable, on the Harvard Secure WIFI, or with a remote connection through VPN.

The installation files for this program are on the GSD file server GSDServer under the Software folder

When installing any software, first download the installer locally – installing software from GSDServer over VPN is not recommended.

Mastercam does a hardware requirements check before the installation to verify your computer meets the minimum requirements.  If your computer does not fulfill these requirements, Mastercam may fail to launch after completing the installation.  Notably – ‘onboard' video cards (Intel integrated cards) are not supported for Mastercam

To start the installation Right-click on the MasterCam2020.exe file and select Run as Administrator

Accept the defaults, and continue through the installation menus when prompted to complete the installation.

Once Mastercam is installed, the CodeMeter utility should appear in the taskbar tray in the lower right corner of the screen

Open the utility by double-clicking its icon

Once CodeMeter is open, select WebAdmin in the lower right corner

This will open a web interface where you can customize your license.

Click on the Configuration tab, where you will have the option to add a server to your search list.

Choose Add New Server

Type in the server name:

gsdlicense.university.harvard.edu

and click Add and then Apply

Remove the existing entry Automatic server search – this may interfere with your ability to check out a license

This should enable your installation to check out a license from the GSD license pool.

Launch Mastercam and, if a license is successfully checked out, you will be prompted to accept the End User License Agreement
