Achieving the mission of the School requires an environment of trust and mutual respect, free expression and inquiry, and a dedication to truth, excellence, and lifelong learning. Students, program participants, faculty, staff, and alumni accept and commit to these principles when joining the Harvard Graduate School of Design community. Background and information on the GSD and Harvard-wide values, policies, and support resources are noted below.

Community Values at the GSD

Where To start if I have a Concern

GSD Local Designated Resource Officers

The Non-Discrimination and Anti-Bullying (NDAB) and Title IX Compliance Teams in partnership with Local Designated Resource Coordinators (LDRs) work to help you understand your rights and explore options, including how to:

  • Submit a formal complaint;
  • Seek informal resolution;
  • Connect with resources internal and external to Harvard; and/or
  • Access supportive measures to help you continue in your education and/or work here at Harvard.

Report an Academic Integrity or Student Well-Being Concern

The Student Affairs office has developed a reporting form for GSD community members to report an academic integrity concern or to share a general well- being concern with the Student Affairs team. We encourage you to use this reporting tool to share important information directly with the appropriate offices.

University-Wide Community Support, Non-Discrimination, Rights, and Responsibilities

Office for Community Support, Non-Discrimination, Rights, and Responsibilities (CSNDR)

CSNDR works with the Harvard community to foster an environment free from discrimination, interpersonal violence, and the impacts of such harm. This central office oversees implementation and compliance with the Non-Discrimination and Anti-Bullying (NDAB) and the Title IX polices.  CSNDR staff are available to discuss any concerns you might have related to these policies.

Prevention, Compliance & Share Support Teams

Prevention

The Prevention Team engages community members in collaborative learning, development, and outreach initiatives designed to reduce harm, improve systems and structures, and catalyze culture change.

NDAB & Title IX Compliance Team

The NDAB & Title IX Compliance Team serves as both a direct line of support for community members and a central hub of information regarding the University’s Policies and Procedures for Non-Discrimination, Anti-Bullying, Sexual Harassment, and Other Sexual Misconduct.

SHARE

The Share Team provides support related to the impacts of sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, abusive relationships, discrimination on the basis of gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation, or uncertainty about an interpersonal experience:
