Distinguished planner donates papers to GSD

Carol Thomas, a former instructor at the Graduate School of Design and a pioneering figure in American planning, has donated her papers to the Frances Loeb Library. The archive, tracing Thomas’s 60-year career as a practitioner and educator, contains nine linear feet of research files, correspondence, and plans and reports for her projects throughout New England.

As Ann Forsyth, director of the urban planning program explained, “Carol Thomas initially approached us about donating some correspondence with former faculty member Arthur Comey whose papers were already in the GSD’s collection. We were thrilled when we realized how many other important documents Carol possessed including those relating to her own work.”
