Ewa Harabasz was born in Czestochowa, Poland. She lives and works in New York City and Boston.

During the 1980s she worked as an art restorer in Poland and Italy. After coming to the U.S., she received her BFA from the College for Creative Studies and MFA from Wayne State University, both in Detroit, Michigan.

Harabasz has taught at several universities in United States, and was a Visiting Professor at Cornell University from 2005 to 2009.

Her pairings and drawings have been exhibited in both solo and group shows in the United States, Europe, Asia and Israel in exhibitions such as in Identity and Otherness at the Socio-Political Contemporary Art Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem, and Mutter at the Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten in Graz, Austria.

A retrospective exhibition of her paintings and drawings is touring in Poland in 2012 at BWA in Olsztyn, Gallery Wozownaia in Torun, Gallery Le Guern in Warsaw, and Gallery Entropia in Wroclaw.

Harabasz was awarded the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2007.
