Richard Kuhn (MArch ’87) wins AIA/NC 2011 Honor Award for Tenley Friendship Library

Richard Kuhn (MArch ’87) won an AIA/NC 2011 Honor Award for his design of the Tenley Friendship Library located in Washington DC. This is his 25th AIA Design Award. The library received one of only two AIA/NC Honor Awards within the state.  His design for the NC A&T University Academic Classroom building also received an AIA/NC Merit Award. The jury consisted of Craig Dykers of Snohetta (Chair), Thomas Phifer FAIA, Thomas Phifer and Partners, and Mimi Hoang, nArchitects, PLLC. The projects were designed through Kuhn’s previous association as Design Principal with the Freelon Group in NC.
Kuhn recently joined Cannon Design in Boston as Design Principal. With Cannon Design, he won a BSA Honor Award-Unbuilt for the King Faisal Cancer Hospital, Riyadh.
