Leena Cho (MLA 09) and Matthew Jull (MArch 08) shortlisted for MoMA PS1 YAP

TempAgency, a design/research collaborative between Kutonotuk (Leena Cho, MLA ’09 and Matthew Jull, MArch ’08) and mcdowellespinosa, is selected as one of the five finalists for the prestigious MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program 2013.
YAP is an annual series of competitions that gives emerging architects the opportunity to build projects conceived for MoMA PS1’s outdoor courtyards in Long Island City, Queens, NY. Past winners include Philip Johnson, SHoP, nARCHITECTS, WorkAC, MOS, SO-IL, Interboro Partners and HWKN.
TempAgency’s work lies at the intersection of architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism, product design, and an array of interrelated forces that shape the built environment from the scale of the object and body to that of the city and continent. Combining numerous expertise linking materials, politics and science, the collaboration defines a unique and critical vision for the future of sustainability.
Working closely with MoMA NYC’s Chief and Senior Curators of Architecture and Design as well as with Directors of MoMA PS1, the second stage design proposal will be submitted and winner will be announced in February/March 2013. For more information, see the YAP 2013 Finalists Press Release.
