Fundamentals of GIS
Picking up where GSD 2108 M-1 leaves off, this second module course is for students who want to extend their understanding and mastery of the following Geographic Information Systems methods: o Data sources and techniques for assembling site context databases o Cartographic Arguments and Map Criticism o Remote Sensing and Image Analysis o Integration of CAD models with GIS o Critical documentation and evaluation of GIS databases and models o GIS in context: considerations for implementing GIS in the public and private sector Meetings will consist of two lecture/demonstrations per week Course grade will be based on four or five out-of-class projects.Prerequisite: GSD 2108 M-1
