This workshop will explore the representation of landscapes as open, dynamic phenomena. As a follow up to the workshop last semester students will be encouraged to work with a range of media and issues of representation. Students will however work on independent projects from the beginning of the semester. They will identify landscapes or issues of representation in consultation with the instructor that they would like to explore in depth. Class time will be used to discuss individual proposals and for pin-ups/presentations by students of work in progress. There will also be slide presentations by the instructor on topics relevant to student\’s individual explorations, as well as on the larger theme of engaging dynamic landscapes. There will be an emphasis on large-scale geographies and movements of material that defy boundaries.
