Jürgen Mayer H., “pre.text / vor.wand”

Since 1996, architect Jürgen Mayer H. (based in Berlin, Germany) has explored architecture as a “trailer” for a possible future of urban activation, referencing data patterns as source material for a new production of space at a range of scales. His current work spans from installations to urban interventions and infrastructure. His lecture will trace the design process in his projects from 2-D found objects to spatially complex structures, including Joh3, a new housing project in Berlin; in Metropol Parasol in Seville, Spain; and ongoing infrastructure projects in Georgia.
J. Mayer H. Architects work in cooperative teams to devise and implement new conceptions of space, incorporating interactive media and responsive new materials at the interface of architecture, communication design and new technologies. They work in an array of areas, including installation work, urban planning, multidisciplinary approaches to space,  and how we relate to nature and technology.
