Spatial Analysis + Representation Lecture: Jeffrey Warren

GSD2129-Spatial Analysis + Representation invites you to a talk by MIT’s Jeffrey Warren, a cartographer + an avid advocate of open source software, hardware, and data.

Jeff Warren has co-founded and contributed to an impressive number of projects including Vestal Design, Grassroots Mapping, p.irateship, and the Public Laboratory for Technology and Science. In 2006, he initiated Cut&Paste Labs, a social entrepreneurship program to educate students from Lima, Peru in web development and design.  In January 2010, Jeff founded Grassroots Mapping where he works with a series of organizations and communities to produce maps with children and adults from several communities in Lima, including the Cantagallo settlement of Shipibo on the bank of the Rimac and the Juan Pablo II community in Villa El Salvador. Jeff was a Fellow at MIT’s Center for Civic Media from 2008 – 2010.
