Sustainability and the Built Environment: Joint School Workshop with GSD, FAS, HBS, HSPH, HLS, and KSG

Sustainability and the Built Environment, jointly sponsored by the Real Estate Academic Initiative, the Center for the Environment and the Office for Sustainability at Harvard University, seeks to begin, refine, and drive a multi-school conversation around sustainability and the built environment.
The event aim is to assemble a group of faculty, students and alumni at Harvard who are engaged in research and practice with respect to cities/regions, community and building design and development, physical infrastructure, ecology, and the environment. During plenary sessions, several Harvard faculty will present their latest research in order to elicit discussion among the larger group. Three breakouts led by faculty will explore how the Harvard campus might be a test bed for helping the larger community adapt to climate change, followed by a group discussion that will synthesize the work done in the breakout sessions.
