Marilyn L. Sticklor

Marilyn L. Sticklor has been a land use and real estate transactional attorney as a Director and currently Of Counsel at the Boston office of the national law firm Goulston & Storrs.  Marilyn brings to her practice and her teaching over four decades of experience as a real estate attorney representing major developers, handling all legal aspects of complex commercial, multi-family residential and mixed-use developments.  Deeply experienced in land use, Marilyn has particular expertise in governmental permitting in Boston and suburban communities, as well as structuring of ownership and operational relationships in large mixed-use urban developments and suburban planned unit developments, tiered condominiums, multi-family housing, and acquisitions.  Representative projects include major multi-phased mixed-use urban development projects in the Boston area such as a 2.9 million SF project on a 4.8 acre downtown site and a 1.5 million SF downtown air rights project. Representative projects outside the urban core include a major multi-phased planned unit development project on a 3,000 acre site.

In addition to her roles in the private sector, Marilyn has co-chaired a governmental advisory commission related to Permit Streamlining and has served on a governmental advisory commission related to revision of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Regulations.

Throughout her career, Marilyn has combined her practice with a particular interest in training and mentoring associates and has been a speaker, curriculum advisor and seminar leader at various legal education programs, including programs sponsored by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) as well as the in-house legal education programs at her firm.

Marilyn is currently a lecturer in Real Estate at GSD.  Marilyn has taught Creating Real Estate Ventures:  A Legal Perspective, SES-5434, at GSD. She will be teaching Real Estate Law for the GSD’s Master in Real Estate program.  Marilyn is a graduate of Barnard College and the Harvard Law School.
