Antoine Picon’s recent book Ornament: The Politics of Architecture and Subjectivity highlights the return of ornament in contemporary architecture and argues the subjective and political implications of ornament throughout history. Ornament is now available in Europe and will soon be available in the US. Antoine Picon is the G. Ware Travelstead Professor of the History of Architecture and Technology and is Co-Director of Doctoral Programs (PhD & DDes) at the GSD. He teaches courses in the history and theory of architecture and technology.
