Research Administration Resources
Reporting to the Executive Dean, we support the Dean and GSD faculty by providing a wide range of sponsored research services for all externally funded grant and contract proposals. All research proposals first need review and approval at the School level, then at the University level before it can be submitted to the sponsor. Our office will work with faculty to navigate Harvard’s sponsored research proposal submission process including facilitation of the required proposal review and approval process. All research proposals require final sign-off by the Executive Dean (who is the final approver on behalf of the Dean). We also work with the Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP) which is the central administration office responsible for sponsored programs throughout Harvard and oversees the entire lifecycle of an award, including pre-award, research finance, and sponsored financial reporting, billing and collection.

COVID-19 Updated Information Regarding Sponsored Research
From the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, March 26, 2020
Unprecedented flexibilities are being provided for awardees and applicants. Realizing that information is cumbersome and overwhelming, we have compiled the following relevant resources:
- COVID-19 Sponsored Guidance for Federal and Non-Federal sponsors for information regarding allowable costs, application deadlines, and no cost extensions
- COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions
- COVID-19 Research-Related Information and Websites
We suggest that you visit appropriate funding institution websites regularly and reach out to contacts within your School who can provide support and help triage questions. The University’s Office of Sponsored Programs, the HMS Office of Research Administration, and the SPH Office of Research Administration are also posting relevant information on our websites.
