Krzysztof Wodiczko (professor in residence of art, design and the public domain) recently presented his work in a public lecture in Santiago, Chile, as part of the ARTS@DRCLAS Overseas Faculty Series. The talk was the first phase of the Designing for Civic Engagement: Instruments of Expression, Dialogue and Collective Critique research project, exploring alternative forms of informal learning using new design technologies.

The 2014 Community Service Fellowship Program Fellows, representing all the GSD programs, will be taking it to the streets this summer to challenge themselves and test their learning on design and planning projects with direct community impact. The 10-week paid summer internships will send them to local community organizations, federal and state agencies and nonprofit institutions with a wide range of needs.

Students of the Disaster Field Lab: Creating Resilient Cities proved their mettle Monday, May 13, as they showcased projects with practical implications for intervention and future planning in the communities affected by Superstorm Sandy. Attended by a jury that included Loeb Fellows, GSD faculty, disaster experts and community representatives, they displayed the innovation, creativity, social awareness and problem-solving abilities for which the GSD is famous.
