Community Service Fellows gain firsthand planning experience

GSD students brought their design and research skills to address practical community needs this summer through the Community Service Fellowship Program. Their internships took them to government agencies and nonprofits in Boston and other cities.

ICE-POPS at Venice Biennale

Elizabeth MacWillie (MDesS ’14) and colleagues from Harvard, MIT and Tufts presented their ICE-POPS project at the prestigious Architecture Biennale in Venice.

Stephen Ervin awarded Esri Lifetime Achievement Award

Stephen Ervin, assistant dean of information technology, was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Esri International User Conference in San Diego, California in July. Ervin was recognized as a “visionary of geospatial sciences” for his active involvement in the development of the theoretical foundations of geodesign.

GSD students present at Med.Net.EU.12 conference

GSD students Daniel Ibañez (MDesS '12, DDesS Candidate '15), Fadi Masoud (MLAII ' 12), Laurent Corroyer (MDesS '13) and Jeannette Sordi (Visiting Student '13) were invited to deliver papers at the international Med.Net.EU.12 conference in Genoa, Italy in June.
