Doctoral Grader (Union Position)
A Doctoral Grader is an eligible GSD doctoral student who may perform additional functions beyond those of a master’s degree Teaching Assistant, including grading assistance.
Doctoral Grader Responsibilities
Graders may be responsible for the following:
- Assisting with course material preparation
- Providing tutorials
- Holding office hours
- Grading papers/assignments
- Recommending course grades
Doctoral Grader Compensation
Doctoral Grader is an hourly position and may be paid up to $25/hour.
Hiring for Students
Instructors may advertise a doctoral grader position through the Advanced Studies Program office or through CREATE.
Students employed at the GSD should familiarize themselves with the GSD Student Payroll procedures.
Students can work a maximum number of 20 hours/week in total, inclusive of all jobs combined at the University when classes are in session, and 40 hours/week in total during breaks. Students should not be incurring overtime pay.
