Led by Sarah M. Whiting, Dean and Josep Lluís Sert Professor of Architecture, the faculty and staff of the Graduate School of Design aim to empower students as designers and planners to confront the world’s most urgent social and environmental crises. Harvard has been at the forefront of design education and practice for more than a century. The current leadership of the GSD are stewards of a legacy that has helped define design and planning in the United States and around the world.  

  • The Administrative Leadership Council is responsible for policies and decisions governing all aspects of GSD administration, coordination, and operations, including its financial, human, physical, and other resources.

  • The Executive Committee discusses and advises the dean on all administrative policies and the operations of the School.
