Khoa Vu
Design Critic in Architecture

Khoa Vu is the founder of Studio KHOA VU, an independent architecture practice based in New York City. The studio focuses on experimental work at the intersection of rational form and embodied spatial experience. His design approach explores spatial typology, tectonic provocation, and the cultural dimensions of sustainability.
He holds a Master of Architecture with Distinction from Harvard GSD, where he received the Araldo Cossutta Prize for Design Excellence and the Faculty Design Award. He earned a B.A. in Architecture with High Honors from UC Berkeley, where he was awarded the Eisner Prize, the university’s highest recognition for creative achievement in the arts.
Khoa’s experience spans a broad range—from socially driven urban housing and cultural landmarks at Michael Maltzan Architecture to long-term, research-based innovation at OXMAN. His work has been recognized by the Lexus Design Award, Venice Biennale, Architecture MasterPrize, and as a featured speaker at AIA International.
