Yujin Cao (MAUD ’22) and Wei Wu (MDes ’22) Present Crossroads at Boston City Hall

Yujin Cao (MAUD ’22) and Wei Wu (MDes ’22) were selected by the Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture Boston to present Crossroads, a participatory installation on view at the Boston City Hall Mezzanine Gallery through May 8, 2026.

Located at the civic heart of the city, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a space of seasonal and symbolic transition, where past, present, and future converge. Crossroads comprises 16 canvases and a projection event that, together, shape the spatial experience.

Crossroads explores movement as both a personal and collective act. Through community participation and subtle spatial interventions, the installation reflects on Boston’s civic spirit, defined by resilience, participation, and shared momentum. By weaving together individual narratives and collective symbolism within the monumental setting of City Hall, Cao and Wu create a contemplative work that honors the city’s identity and welcomes the arrival of spring.
