Mia Lehrer (MLA ’79), FASLA, has received the 2026 Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) Medal. This annual award is conveyed to a landscape architect for distinguished work over a career supporting the preservation, improvement, and enhancement of the environment.

As founder and president of Studio-MLA, Lehrer has led the design and implementation of transformative public and private urban redevelopment projects. Known for her innovative work that puts people at the center of public space, integrates social and community infrastructures, and promotes climate-resilient futures, Mia Lehrer is regarded as a visionary leader in progressive landscape architecture.
Lehrer will be recognized at the LAF Gala Dinner in Los Angeles, CA, on September 16, 2026.
