Oorvi Sharma (MArch ’18) curated, conceived the scenography, and led the production for a Parisian exhibition in collaboration with LVMH Métiers d’Art titled Scars of Light, which featured works by Japanese artist Shu Yonezawa. The exhibition marked the culmination of the 9th Résidence Artistique at LVMH Métiers d’Art’s La Main location in Paris. The exhibition was on view October 24–October 31, 2025, and coincided with the Paris+ par Art Basel period.

The exhibition highlighted works developed during Yonezawa’s immersion in material craftsmanship at the KUROKI denim atelier in Ibara City, Okayama. Scars of Light unveiled new works that reimagined denim as a living universe, drawing inspiration from artisanal indigo-dyeing processes, laser work, intricate weaving, and embroidery. Her work explores the intersections of memory, technology, and the poetic resonance of material craft.

Oorvi Sharma’s collaboration with LVMH Métiers d’Art exemplifies her ongoing commitment to material research and her global practice dedicated to showcasing contemporary culture and craft through thoughtful, high-quality curatorial and exhibition frameworks. In preparation for the exhibition in Paris, Oorvi worked closely with Yonezawa between Okayama, Japan, and Paris, France, to develop an imaginative presentation of the artist’s works at the La Main location in Paris.
