Yujin Cao (MAUD ’22) and Xiaofan Ye (MArch ’23) have received international recognition for their project “Brooklyn Dairy Project,” developed in Stephanie Bru and Alexandre Theriot’s Spring 2022 option studio Borderline(s) investigation #1 – Lightness. The project has been honored with several design awards, including Architizer A+ Award , London Design Award , MUSE Design Award , and New York Architectural Design Award .
The Brooklyn Dairy Project reimagines an industrial site in South Brooklyn as a regenerative hub blending urban vibrancy with sustainable agriculture. Beyond envisioning a new future for post-industrial landscapes, the project demonstrates how design can be a catalyst for social and ecological transformation. Its international recognition underscores not only the innovative vision of the work but also the leadership of GSD designers in shaping more sustainable and equitable urban futures.
