Enjoy a tour of Toronto’s new Biidaasige Park with design leaders from Waterfront Toronto, followed by networking drinks at the Keating Channel pub. Pina Mallozzi (MLA ’05), Senior Vice President, Design at Waterfront Toronto, will lead the tour!
Join fellow Harvard alumni in the greater Toronto area to explore Biidasige Park and learn about the Port Lands Flood Protection (PLFP) project. This feat of landscape architecture and engineering is vast: it protects 174 hectares of land from flooding, sets the stage for new neighborhoods, and creates 24 hectares of new parkland where the Don River meets Toronto’s inner harbor. Landscape architects Michal Van Valkenburg and Associates (MVVA) led the multidisciplinary team of consultants, which was managed by Waterfront Toronto. Biidaasige Park weaves together natural aquatic and terrestrial habitats, nature play, public art, indigenous cultural ceremonial spaces, trails, and recreational spaces.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with Harvard alumni and visit one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in North America.
