Regine Leibinger co-founded the architectural practice Barkow Leibinger with Frank Barkow in 1993 in Berlin. The spectrum of the firm’s work ranges from master planning, urban high-rises, office and industrial buildings to residential buildings, installations, and prototypical exhibition pavilions. Notable projects include the Biosphere in Potsdam, the Campus Restaurant in Ditzingen, and the Tour Total office high-rise in Berlin. Their work has been featured internationally, including the Serpentine Summer House program in London (2016), the Chicago Architecture Biennial(2017, 2023), and the Venice Architecture Biennale (2008, 2014, 2025). In 2020, their work was presented in a solo exhibition at the Haus am Waldsee in Berlin. In 2022, Regine Leibinger founded the non-profit organization Experimental, which supports projects exploring new approaches to architecture with the aim of rethinking how and with what we build.

Regine Leibinger serves on the Visiting Committee of the Department of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is a Trustee of the American Academy in Berlin, and a member of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. Together with Frank Barkow, she has taught as a visiting professor at Princeton University and Cornell University. In 2020, she was named an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). From 2022 to 2025, she was a Design Critic in Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
