Pairsis a journal of conversations edited by students at the Harvard GSD. Each issue pairs subjects with objects: interviewees with contents from a Harvard or external archive. The journal does not have a theme, but instead organizes a diversity of threads and concerns relevant to our moment in the design disciplines: covering architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design and planning. The conversations are in turn not comprehensive accounts but open-ended exchanges, eliciting often candid and provisional ideas in progress.
Pairs 06 features conversations with Stan Allen, Mark Lee, Anne Holtrop, Reto Geiser, Paloma Strelitz, Sandra Barclay, Alexandra Arènes, Ronan Bouroullec, Eli Börnicke, Garnette Cadogan, Joshua Bennett, and Fundación RIA.
Contributors include students Robin Albrecht, Fernando Garrido Carreras, Claire Glass, Klara Kaufman, Kate Robinson, Duncan Steele, Mingxuan Wei, and Tristan Whalen.
Pairs 06 was edited by Kaleb Swanson, Harish Krishnamoorthy, Caro Sepúlveda, and Tyler White with the support of Dean Sarah M. Whiting and the Harvard GSD.
Limited copies of Issue 06 are available for purchase in the Frances Loeb Library. It will be available worldwide through Harvard University Press in May 2026.
