Gweneth Leigh (MLA ’03) Appointed the ACT’s First Government Landscape Architect

Gweneth Leigh (MLA ’03) has been appointed the Australian Capital Territory’s first Government Landscape Architect, a landmark role established to lead the development of a landscape plan for Canberra, Australia, and strengthen collaboration across government on the value of landscape and public spaces.

“It’s a huge mandate, and to have the privilege of being the first is something I take very seriously. Just as landscape permeates so many facets of our daily lives, I want to make sure each step is meaningful and ambitious, and gets more people connected to our open spaces,” she says.
