The GSD remembers Peter Allen Schlesinger (MAUD ’83), who passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026. An accomplished lawyer and architect, he served in a number of important public planning roles in Boston, Massachusetts, and Kansas City, Kansas.
At the GSD, he was beloved by his classmates in the Urban Design program, where he acted as a kind of older brother, guiding his peers through the nuances of real estate finance and land use law; courses he could have taught himself. Always circumspect and self-effacing, he nonetheless left a legacy to all of us who were his “students” of the great importance of both the law and architecture, disciplines to which he was fully committed.
