Mexican Cities Initiative Research Presentation and Reception

The event will feature the presentation of research from the work of the Mexican Cities Initiative 2015 fellows, conducted in Mexico City during the summer of 2015. The research includes four projects entitled: En Bici, Moving Water, Nested Informalities, and Housing Resilience. The research presentations will be followed by a short reception, during which students interested in applying for the 2016 fellowship can get more information about the application process and project proposals.

The Mexican Cities Initiative (MCI) at the Harvard Graduate School of Design is an emerging platform for experimental ideas and actionable knowledge to help guide the transformation of Mexico’s complex urban landscapes over the next decades. Drawing on the generous support of Mr. Rolando Uziel, a GSD Alumni, and under the faculty guidance of Diane Davis, Charles Dyer Norton Professor of Regional Planning and Urbanism, the MCI supports a public archive of Mexico-based research conducted at the GSD and elsewhere, a network of partnerships in and beyond Mexico, and an annual summer summer fellowship for innovative student research.
