
Cory Berg
Design Critic in Urban Planning and Design

Cory Berg is an urban planner and engagement specialist who currently serves as the Director of Campus Planning at Northeastern University. At Northeastern, she spearheads the university’s Institutional Master Plan and oversees a team focused on space planning and long-range strategic initiatives for Northeastern’s Boston campus. Complementing her role at Northeastern, Cory has held positions as a part-time lecturer and faculty advisor at Northeastern University, design critic at the Graduate School of Design, and instructor at Boston Architectural College. She feels passionately about community engagement, storytelling, and people management, all of which manifest themselves in interesting ways throughout her work.
Prior to Northeastern, Cory served as the Director of Urban Design at Utile, an interdisciplinary design firm based in Boston. During her time at Utile, Cory served as project manager and planner on an array of projects, ranging from district and citywide plans to economic development and real estate advising. Prior to her career as an urban planner, Cory dabbled in marketing, communications, and education at National Geographic in Washington, D.C.
Cory holds a Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University, a Masters of Urban Planning from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University. In her free time, she volunteers with a number of Boston-based nonprofits and sits on the Associate Board of Girls on the Run of Greater Boston.
