Design Critic in Architecture

Job Floris is architect (1974 ‘s-Hertogenbosch NL) and obtained his master’s degree in architecture from the Rotterdam Academy for Architecture and Urbanism in 2004, after finishing his studies of architectural design at the Academy for Visual Arts and Design Sint Joost in Breda (NL). He worked at Christian Kieckens Architects in Aalst (B) and subsequently at Poulissen & Partners architects in Antwerp (BE) In 2000 Floris continued to practice in the Netherlands, working as project-architect at Rapp+Rapp till 2006. In 2006 Floris founded MONADNOCK together with Sandor Naus. Floris was editor of OASE Journal for Architecture from 2008 till 2018. He has held various visiting lectureships in the Netherlands and abroad since 2006. From 2010 till 2018 Floris was appointed as head of the Master’s degree course Architecture at the Rotterdam Academy for Architecture and Urbanism, and has been teaching in various universities such as Ghent, Graz, Karlsruhe, and the EPF-Lausanne.
