On Sunday, May 29, 2022, the Graduate School of Design will host Commencement for the Classes of 2020 and 2021.

Harvard University and the Graduate School of Design will celebrate the resilient recent graduates who experienced one-of-a-kind virtual graduation ceremonies but were unable to participate in traditional, on-campus Harvard University Commencement exercises due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Activities on May 29 will include the Harvard Yard morning ceremony and in-person aspects of a GSD Diploma Ceremony that were not possible online.

2020 and 2021 graduates can expect to hear more from Alumni Relations as specifics are finalized for the GSD’s celebrations. Please check this website frequently for information specific to GSD Commencement.

All graduates and guests should expect continued COVID-19 protection and prevention practices while on-campus. This may include requirements such as mask use and vaccination or testing to participate in events. Currently, the University is requiring those coming to campus to be fully vaccinated with an FDA- or WHO-authorized vaccine, and the GSD is requiring masks to be worn while indoors or in closely packed outdoor situations. The University will continue to actively monitor public health conditions and communicate expectations and guidelines to graduates and guests participating in Commencement.
