Kevin studied architecture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and Canberra University, Australia. In London he worked with David Chipperfield Architects before establishing Carmody Groarke with Andy Groarke. Alongside Andy, Kevin is leading the design of several projects within the UK and overseas including a comprehensive heritage restoration and new build extension to the Design Museum Gent and a site-wide decarbonisation masterplan for the British Library, Boston Spa.

Recent projects include a temporary museum for Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House in Scotland, Windermere Jetty Museum in the Lake District, and the restoration of the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester.

Kevin holds a strong commitment to education in architecture. He has taught at schools including The Bartlett School of Architecture (University College London), The Royal College of Art, The University of Stuttgart, Cornell University (Ithaca) and Yale School of Architecture, where he was William Henry Bishop Visiting Professor. Kevin is regularly invited to lecture on the work of Carmody Groarke, recently visiting Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Bozar Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels.

He has contributed to numerous publications and published several practice monographs including the world-renowned El Croquis, 2G and AMAG. A new monograph of the studio’s work is due to be published by Japanese publisher A+U in summer 2023.
