Betsy Williamson, OAA, FRAIC, is a founding partner of Williamson Williamson, an internationally recognized architecture practice established in Toronto in 2007. Her portfolio includes work ranging from master plans to furniture, all of which reflect a careful attention to detail regardless of scale or budget. Betsy received a Master of Architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Architecture from Barnard College. Her office’s work has been awarded the 2014 Emerging Architectural Practice Award by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the 2014 Emerging Voices Award by the Architectural League of New York, and her Garden Laneway House recently won a Governor General’s Medal, the highest honor for a built project in Canada. Betsy fosters her commitment to engaging the city through volunteer work. She is the vice-chair of the Waterfront Toronto Design Review Panel and co-founder of Building Equality in Architecture Toronto (BEAT), an organization that promotes equality in the profession through advocacy, mentorship and networking.
