The MRE Practicum is a year-long set of connected courses that begins with Practicum Preparation led by MRE faculty during fall and spring terms at the GSD. It then includes the Practicum Placement, a summer-term two-month field course that places students in a United States or international real estate organization to participate in real estate projects that advance beneficial social and environmental outcomes. The MRE program arranges placements based on each student’s interest and the needs of the Practicum organization. During the Practicum Placement, students are guided by an employee of the Practicum organization and periodically meet remotely with Practicum faculty. Students return to the GSD for several days at the end of the summer term to discuss and compare their Practicum placement experiences.
