João Gomes da Silva (Lisbon 1962) is a Landscape-Architect educated at Universidade de Évora (1979/ 1985), were he taught until 1994 as Assistant to Professor G Ribeiro Telles. He practiced and collaborated with Álvaro Siza from 1985 to 2002 in several projects as an independent Landscape-Architect, until he founded with Inês Norton, Global Landscape Architecture office since 1994, after receiving a Schinkell Prize (1991) in Landscape-Architecture. At Global Landscape office he developed, in a partnership with Inês Norton, many collaborations with several architects, landscape-architects, artists among other fields of knowledge or creation. João has taught as Visiting Professor at Versailles, TU Berlin, ETSA Barcelona, UdS Roma (Sapienza), and UdS Sassari (Alghero). He is Professor at Mendrisio Accademia di Architettura (since 2012), and teaches at Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, Department Architecture.
