Ricardo Solar earned his M.Arch I from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and is currently lead designer at Mohsen Mostafavi Architecture (MMA).
Ricardo has been designer in several architectural practices, such as Maryann Thompson Architects, HOK, and SOM in New York. At SOM he worked on various high-rise office, interiors, commercial, residential, hotel, airport, and transportation projects. He worked extensively on a new commuter rail station in downtown Miami currently under construction. Ricardo has also worked as a construction consultant with Marc Truant and Associates on a recent renovation project at Wellesley College Brackett Library designed by Monica Ponce de Leon Studio.
Ricardo worked with Farshid Moussavi in her London practice on the book The Function of Style (Actar 2015), and has taught Style and Time with Farshid at the GSD. He recently worked on the development of a new master plan vision for the Harvard Allston Campus expansion in collaboration with Farshid and several GSD students.
Ricardo has previously taught Introduction to Digital Skills at the GSD. His work focuses greatly on drawing, fabrication, and representation as tools for design.
